How to Make Beef Cheddar Sliders for Two in a Crock Pot

Aunt Lou here.

Everyone loves the amazing sliders that are brought to potlucks. If you want to have them at home but don’t want a bunch of leftovers, now you can do that with these Crock Pot Beef Cheddar Sliders for Two.

When you put these sliders in the broiler to crisp up the tops, please do not take your eyes off them. They do not have to be in the broiler long. I know from experience that looking away for as little as 20 seconds can take the tops from not quite there to blackened. However, if you watch them while they are in the broiler, the perfect golden tops are easy to achieve.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Place all the rolls on a large cutting board and take a large knife to slice all your rolls in half at the same time (do not break them apart) and gently remove the tops as one big piece.

  • Place the bottoms (as one piece) in your 2.5 Quart Small Casserole Crock Pot or 4 Quart Oval Crock Pot.

  • Layer roast beef slices on the bottom halves of the rolls that are still all connected.

  • Layer cheddar cheese slices across the top of the roast beef.

  • As one piece, place the top halves of your rolls back on top of the bottom part of the sliders.

  • In a small bowl or coffee cup, mix together remaining ingredients.

  • Brush the tops of the sliders with the butter mixture liberally with a basting brush.

  • Cover and cook on high for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, turning your insert halfway through if your slow cooker doesn't cook evenly.

  • If desired, use a large spatula to remove all your sliders as one and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet, place your rolls on the lower rack in your oven with your broiler on high for 30-60 seconds to crisp up the tops. (Watch continually and do not walk away. You can go from perfection to burnt very quickly in a broiler.)

  • Cut the sliders apart and serve.
