How do you get experience fast in empires and puzzles? ›

The only way to obtain a decent amount of XP and boost your player level is to complete missions on the PvE map. The best ratio of XP per Energy point is offered by the following missions: 7-4 (for beginners), 9-1, 12-9, 17-1 (for intermediate players), 20-4, and 23-10 (for advanced players).

Each time you level up a hero, there is a chance that their special skill will be improved. This can happen up to 8 times per hero. You can improve the chance of skill upgrades by using higher rarity heroes as fodder, by using same-color heroes, and by using copies of the same hero.

Using the same colour feeder Heroes doubles the % chance to increase the special skill. Feeding a Hero identical to the Hero you are levelling gives you a 25% chance increase to the special skill.

Finding Recruits

You obtain recruits primarily by playing stages on the map. You can also obtain a few recruits by winning raids in the gold arena and above. world energy and often drops 8 - 11 recruits. Additionally there will be "Find Recruits" quests on the Events map from time to time.

Hidden Blade is a three star ascension material that cannot be acquired by playing the map. All unfarmable ascension mats may be acquired by completing Wanted Missions, killing Titans, winning Wars, competing in Challenge Events, and reaching milestones in Paths of Adventure.

20-4 is the best Season 1 level for red. The others will also work, in descending order. In fairness, there isn't really an ideal level for farming red monsters for the chests, but 20/4 is the least bad in my experience.

How important are troops in empires and puzzles? ›

In the early game, there are more important things like building up your heroes and team synergies. But once you've got that built up, troops become more important. If you have heroes, you're essentially working on heroes for more depth. Troops can provide an advantage here when heroes stagnate.

A full team consists of 5 heroes. Hero Rarity, meaning also quality, is denoted by the number of stars (displayed beneath their name on the Card), from 1*/Common up to 5*/Legendary (see table below; heroes above 3*/Rare are called "high rarity" in-game).

AoE stands for Area of Effect. This just means heroes whose hit affects more than one enemy. That's all. Like Grimm, who can hit three enemies at once, or Little John, who hits everyone, or Hawkmoon, who heals.

To progress quickly so you have useful heroes that will take you through the game for the next year while you collect ascension mats for higher level heroes, start by collecting 3* heroes. “Feed” your 1 and 2* heroes to your 3* heroes.
